yeah, you can read about them here: https://www.robertshawaii.com/blog/growing-appreciation-hawaiis-state-flower/ the real name is hibiscus sinensis and there are several other sub-names, common for all the beautiful flowers in different colors. The sort was originally only habitant in Asia, but has spread out, and I even have some in the yard, they sustain the cold and winter here, no problem and grow very big bushes. They are called Hibiscus Syriacus.

I believe my grandmother used to have some variety of hibiscus. They're very pretty.
