I am so sorry you were left out of the conversation in the group today. I often feel left out of discussions in that group, and in the past, I have been happy to leave because I felt left out and wasn't contributing anything.

As for a writing career, I, too, don't have the talent for selling myself, and I, too, am gaining followers slowly. Scott Dikkers, who is a well-known humor writer here, assures me that it just takes time if I keep at it. I think the same thing applies to you. Don't be discouraged. You have a beautiful gift for words, and people are learning to appreciate it.

I would really love to be able to join you in Maine, but after googling my name and your president, I am now sure, that that won't be possible. Well - it wasn't possible anyhow, as I still sit around here in the big expensive house of mine, which eats at least 1000 $ every months of money I do not have. That's life after death....

I was so devastated when I realized why you left and felt so bad continuing to contribute to that conversation tonight. I wanted to kill that talk after I realized it but I could see that you had already been affected and wanted to spend your time more productively. To be fair, we stopped talking about it right after you left and shifted talk about what we were working on, how we would each improve Medium, and some changes that they could incorporate from Substack, and other various topics more related to writing. Anyway, I did get a chance to read the transcript from your full live video but wanted to make sure I specifically commented on this part. If you ever feel like that in the future, none of us would be mad if you wanted to change the subject or get us back on track. I know how often these meetings can feel like they get veered off-course.
It's all right Gerald - Most meetings in the group veer off course, but when it turns into something materialistic as going to the meeting in Maine, where I cannot join, I have no chance to get any inspiration.
Maybe we should make a channel in the discord group to handle questions about going and accommodations etc....
